Systems Administrator

  • As a Systems Administrator, I was responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading software on a multi-cluster system consisting of 16 nodes partitioned into two Linux clusters.
  • Primary responsibility included the installation, maintenance, and management of WebSphere, Apache, DB2, MySQL, and Tomcat.
Research Associate / Software Engineer
  • ETRI: Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, Seoul, SOUTH KOREA
  • Tenure: July 2005 - January 2007
  • Worked as part of a collaboration effort involving the University of Western Ontario, IBM Canada, and the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) of South Korea.
  • The work was part of a broader goal to develop autonomous management technology for clusters of servers or server farms. Since a Web server is a central component in such systems, our initial work focused on Web Server Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning with a particular focus on performance management through dynamic adjustment of applications' and systems' configuration/tuning parameters.
Software Developer

  • Tenure: May 1998 - April 2000
  • Designed, developed, and maintained databases for prospective students, schools and organizations involved with recruiting students.
  • Provided training and technical support to staff on data entry, maintenance, report generation for correspondences, and follow-up analysis to determine which students are eventually recruited.
